The 2010 Kawasaki Concours 14 sport-touring is an upgrade over its predecessor and might be one of the most consumer-influenced models in Kawasaki motorbikes history. The 2010 model also has optional ABS, but now it’s also a new second-generation version of the linked system found on the Kawasaki Voyager cruisers. Building on the continent-crossing comfort and genuine sportbike performance of its predecessor, the second-generation Concours™ 14 includes new touring features and updated technology to advance the state of the sport touring art.

Bodywork refinements and detail changes which vastly improve rider comfort, and make long-distance journeys even easier than before. A larger windscreen offers extra wind protection and new heat-dissipating bodywork provides better heat management. A number of additional new features, like heated handgrips, upgraded computer functions, a relocated glove box, and tank bag hooks offer added convenience and increase the Concours 14’s touring performance.

In addition to all the rider information provided in the original redesign, Kawasaki added an outside air temperature monitor, as well as an indicator that the rider is using the throttle more judiciously to increase fuel economy. Instruments now also reflect whether the rider has selected a fuel economy assistance mode (the so-called “ECO” mode) and how the rider has set up the K-ACT ABS system.

The Concours 14 comes equipped with a 6-speed transmission. The sixth gear is an overdrive gear that allows engine speed to be reduced when cruising for high comfort and low fuel consumption. Performance touring comes from ZX-14-based engine, 1,352cc Four-Cylinder DOHC with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) (same with 2009 predecessor) that deliver maximum torque: 102.0 lb-ft at 6,200 rpm.
