The 2010 GMC Yukon has evolved throughout the years to become the full-size, nine-passenger SUV. Offers two powerful engine options, drivetrain configurations, luxury interior, tons of cargo room and plenty of standard safety features makes the Big SUV GMC Yukon as the Affordable Large SUVs in its class. The 2010 GMC Yukon is offered in SLE, SLT and premium Denali trim levels and measures the same width but is slightly shorter than its competitors Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia. The Yukon shares their basic designs platform with the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban as well as the premium Cadillac Escalade.
Building on a recent redesign it carries over for 2010 with a sleek body mounted on a strong, stiff frame with power steering, disc brakes, and a touring suspension. The GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali feature clean lines with quiet, calm surface planes that minimize the sheer bulk. The one-piece front end presents a friendly, welcoming face but without forfeiting the Yukon’s presence. Large headlight housings are vertically oriented rather than the Tahoe’s horizontal layout. The trademark grille with ruby-red logo and lower air intake ensure plenty of engine cooling.
The Yukon’s interior has slight differences depending on seating configuration; six-seat versions have a high dash without a center console, while five-seat versions get a wide center storage console. Either shows off a quantum leap in interior quality and styling for the big SUV. There’s a wide swath of wood grain trim on some versions, as well as softly rounded corners, tight-fitting, tightly grained plastics, and options for fine leather seats.
Two powertrain options are offered, including a 320-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 with an available cylinder deactivation system for improved fuel economy and a monstrous 403-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine. Both are coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual. For 2010, all Yukons are now E-85 capable. EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings are 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, which isn’t too shabby for a full-size SUV with this kind of power. When properly equipped, the Yukon can tow up to 8,500 pounds. A 2010 GMC Yukon XL and hybrid model are also available.
