From the world’s debuts at the 2010 New York auto show, the 2011 R-Class offer up a fresh example of the Mercedes-Benz Crossover SUV for the 2011. The German automaker is completely redesigned the front end to look more like the German brand’s sedans and SUVs with a larger grille and more squared-off headlights. Minor tweaks to the back will include new taillights and for interior is an optional three-seat second row for seven-passenger seating. The hood, fenders, radiator grille, front fascia, headlamps and bumpers get a makeover for 2011. The 2011 R-Class is available as the R350 4Matic or the R350 BlueTEC 4Matic; the former is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the latter is motivated by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel that manages 210 hp and a considerable 400 lb-ft of torque. Standard amenities include an in-dash six-disc DVD/CD changer, dual-zone climate control and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Optional items include stainless steel pedals, ventilated and heated seats, a power liftgate, a panorama glass roof, blind-spot assist, a new lighting package, and a hard-drive navigation system.
