Ford Ranger is affordable small truck that offer a true-truck design in a relatively modest package with decent gas mileage. The 2010 Ranger available in two-door Regular Cab and four-door SuperCab. Both are available in XL, XLT and Sport trim levels. The off-road-oriented FX4 has been discontinued. There’s no true four-door version of the Ranger, but the SuperCab has two small access doors for cargo stowage. For 2010, this compact pickup truck has fewest major changes, new are upgraded airbags, antiskid system, on-wheel tire-pressure monitoring, and two 16-inch wheel designs. Two engines are offered: a 143-horsepower 2.3-liter 4-cylinder or a 207-horsepower 4.0-liter V6. Both are available with manual or automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 5,980 pounds. When properly equipped, the Ranger can be a competent off-road vehicle such features exist on Sport SuperCab models with part-time four-wheel drive that includes a low-range gear for off-roading. The 2010 Ranger remains reasonably competitive for cost-conscious buyers needing a basic pickup, and it’s one of the few compacts remaining on the market. Price range: $17,440 – $25,570.
