Audi officially unveiled the 2011 A1, the new sportiest car in its class. This small compact vehicle is designed for the urban environment. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it is very agile and nimble in city traffic and offers a high degree of everyday utility. The A1 design is unique and modern, the exterior package adds a larger roof spoiler, the coupe-like C-pillars, a revised front bumper with side air vents, more chiseled sill tops and a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Inside, the S Line sport package adds a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, a sport suspension, and a choice of either 17- or 18-inch alloys. Two petrol and two diesel engines (all turbocharged) will initially be offered on the 2011 A1. The TFSI gasoline engine include a new 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter four-cylinder. The two turbo-diesel TDI engines are really just one, a 1.6-liter. Diesel models and the 1.2-liter A1 will use a five-speed manual exclusively, the 1.4-liter will get a six-speed stick as standard with the option of stepping up to a seven-speed double-clutch S tronic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddles.
