The 2011 Buick Regal is the midsize family sedan with a sporty character and some luxury features that only found on more expensive cars. In Europe the Regal is essentially Opel Insignia, the 2009 European Car of the Year that competes with the Ford Mondeo, Honda Accord, and Volkswagen Passat. This 2011 Regal is a sport sedan that well known for relatively sporty handling for a front-wheel-drive four-door, an upscale cabin and sharp exterior styling. The 2011 Buick Regal will be available in CXL trim only, a less-expensive CX and high-performance GS will be added for the 2012 model year. The standard engine is a 182-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, GM claims should earn a highway fuel economy rating of 30 mpg. The Regal has a MacPherson-strut front and multilink rear suspension, with aluminum lower control arms all around. The price named for the Regal CXL makes it look as though the car will to slot between well-equipped affordable sedans and entry-level luxury cars like the Acura TL and Audi A4.
